As an architect in training, Ryan Docken is a design team member heavily involved in multiple projects and special initiatives. Prior to joining Perimeter Architects in October 2015, Ryan worked in Los Angeles at several internationally recognized architectural firms such as Morphosis Architects, Randall Stout Architects, and Gensler where he collaborated on both international and local projects spanning the academic, cultural, civic, urban, and commercial markets. His approach towards architecture is a blend between rigor and play in the pursuit of impactful and well-executed design regardless of project type and constraints.
Ryan holds a BSD in Architectural from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln and a M.Arch. from The Ohio State University, where his work repeatedly received both faculty awards and peer recognition. His design work has been exhibited in the 2012 Venice Biennale and featured at SCI-Arc., the Taubman School of Architecture, and the Knowlton School of Architecture.
Hailing from rural South Dakota, Ryan has long admired and drawn inspiration from the windmills and watertowers dotting the agrarian plains as humble icons of both means and imagination, to which Ryan enjoys seeing atop various buildings during his West Town walks with his husky Mesa.
