Project makes full use of its northern exposure to create contrasting light level within the interior spaces. One continuous bright space was not the objective; instead Perimeter Architect’s double height barreled ceiling space play against the flatness of a ceiling painted black to create spatial connections through to the light-filled second floor.

A custom cement board lap siding clads the exterior of the second floor of this residence. The first floor existing brick was stained to modernize and compliment the new addition. With a modest budget and strong collaboration, client and contractor made strategic decisions which were budget conscious but ultimately worked to maintain a strong sense of space and design.
